It was perfect in every way - attractive and appealing to kids, sturdy, large enough to hold bigger dollar store items, etc. BUT the lid is not on a hinge. This has been a big hassle. The lid must be lifted off and placed to the side. Because it's not small, classrooms are quite tight, and the lid is not slim, it can be a pain to manipulate; especially for smaller hands. I so wished that the designers had built in a hinge mechanism and/or a stick mechanism to keep the lid attached and/or open when necessary. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Plastic Pirate's Chest (Toy) I bought this for my classroom to use as a treasure box for treats and little gifts for my pre-kinder students. It is a good quality product that seems to be pretty sturdy. My only complaint is that I didn't look at the measurements closely and it's a little big. It is also kind of expensive for what you get. I could have just bought a similar plastic container on sale. It could be used more for a toy box or for storing manipulatives in my class. I'm going to keep it just because it has multiple uses. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By Ellen T McFarland (Wilmington, DE, US) - See all my reviews = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Plastic Pirate's Chest (Toy) I was shocked at how small this chest was. I was expecting to get something to use as a toy chest. Its only about 10" X 15" X 15" and can only fit a few items inside. |
