I originally ordered 2 of these cake kits: one for my year old daughter's birthday party... the second merely for the ponies because these "hard haired" ponies are my 3 year old daughter's absolute favorite. I wanted back up, in case she lost hers.
The ponies are the same as in the MLP Gift Pack, which is exactly what I wanted. The barn scene, though, is MINISCULE! I understand it is to look like it is far away in the background, but I was still shocked at how tiny it is. The ponies were laying on top of the barn in the packaging, and I thought the seller forgot to pack it. Still cute though.
Anyhow, the price was right, lower than I had ever seen the kit go for (I got it for $2 per pony; I am not including what the barn would cost... which couldn't be more than a few cents!). I asked our bakery to decorate our baby's First Birthday cake to match the scene (they actually sell cakes with this kit on them, but didn't have any currently in stock), and the icing...Read more

I just wish it came with Spike!
This is a really easy and nice way to get the molded hair AJ and Twilight. My shipment arrived quickly and even though it was only a padded envelope that was fine for these, they're pretty sturdy.
The barn wasn't worth hardly anything, being tiny and cardboard, but unless you're actually buying this for a cake that should be as expected.

or you're getting the cake set for your kid, it's quite the deal!
For cake decorating, it's simple and it works, and if anything: all you need to do is add the candle numbers to the mix and it's any pony loving child's dream cake.
For collectors or just general pony fans, it's a quick and easy way to get your hands on AppleJack and Twilight with MOLDED hair (and the... barn?). If you are anything like me, the Gift set (about 30 dollars) that includes these 2 ponies + Pinkie Pie, Celestia (pink?), and Spike are ALWAYS sold out, thus this is the fastest/cheapest alternative.
Not to mention, it's dirt cheap! (at least, in my opinion)
Notes:
-The ponies are extremely durable, it would take intentionally sledge hammering the things to do damage to any part of them
